The ancient ruins of Ephesus near the city of Selcuk was our third stop on our Turkey travels.

In this episode 3 of my Travel Turkey GoPro Vlog Series, we explored the ruins by foot, impressed by the rich history of the area.

Ephesus

The ancient city of Ephesus is world heritage listed. First built in the third century BC and later expanded during the Roman period.

Did you know Cleopatra organised the murder of her sister Arsenoe so she could beat their brother and take reign? It was here at the ancient Temple of Artemis that Arsenoe was killed.

Selcuk

We stayed in the town of Selcuk which is just minutes away from Ephesus. It’s a sweet little town with cobblestone streets, climbing bougainvilleas and relaxed cafes.

In this video, you’ll see how we ended up in a basement rug shop and got the unexpected experience of hearing and playing the traditional Turkish stringed instrument called a baglama.
